I had a lovely surprise this morning, when I recieved an email from writing friend Glynis Scrivens, with a scan of one of my stories which she’d spotted in the Spring issue of Fast Fiction. (Yes, spring – it’s an Australian publication.)

It’s always interesting to see the magazine’s illustrations and compare them with my own picture of the characters.

In this case they’re younger than they are in my imagination, but the expressions are spot on!

How the characters look wasn’t the biggest surprise though. For some reason, I wasn’t aware until I saw it that the story had been accepted! With all the travelling I’ve been doing lately, I doubt that was the only communication which went astray! Hopefully if anyone sent me something I’ve failed to respond to they’ll understand.
