The feedback for my story ‘Letting Go’ was that it almost made the fiction editor and her assistant cry.
That must have been in a good way as it’s in the 31st May issue of Woman’s Weekly. I choose to think they selected the purple cover of this issue just for me.
A newspaper article prompted me to write this story. I do sometimes get inspiration from real life, but it’s usually best if it’s other people’s reality. Knowing too many of the facts somehow makes it harder, rather than easier, to create a convincing work of fiction.
