I have two stories in the current (February) issue of Take a Break’s Fiction Special. That’s quite enough to keep me happy, but I was very pleased to see that one of them is featured on the cover and the other gets a mention in the editor’s letter! That’s a first for me.
Don’t judge a Book features someone who worked in a bookshop for work experience at school. My memory must be better than I realised as I did my work experience in a library and I think that’s where the idea came from.
Different Kinds of Brave deals with gangs and PTSD. Perhaps not obvious subjects for a women’s magazine, so I was pleasantly surprised to have it accepted.
Gangs and PTSD? Wow. Serious stuff.

It was a challenge to make the story light enough for a magazine without trivialising the issues, Stuart.
