I have a story in the current (October!) issue of Woman’s Weekly Fiction Special. I’d like to tell you what prompted me to write this story about a doctor and her heartless father. I’m not going to though because I don’t have a clue!
Writing is like that sometimes. A story can appear from nowhere. Of course something will have sparked it off, it’s just that I don’t always realise what. Sometimes though an unusual or interesting incident will occur, or I’ll hear a tantalising snippet of conversation and just have to work whatever it is into a story.
It’s true what they say – be careful around authors or you’ll end up in their story.
Well done, will pick one up later.

Probably not a good idea to psychoanalyse where a story idea came from. Good story.
